The construction of this new bridge will provide an alternate route to connect North India to the Northeast. There will be a short route from Delhi via Gorakhpur-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga-Sakri-Nirmali-Saraigarh-Forbesganj to Northeast India via Koshi Mahasetu.
On 23 June, the Railways ran a special train on this rail track that went from Saraigarh to Asanpur Kupaha.
