Flying within India? 5 destinations issue fresh guidelines for travellers

With the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases, destinations like Bihar, Meghalaya, Surat, Bhopal and Srinagar have issued new guidelines for travellers.

Here are the latest guidelines for 5 destinations:


> For Bihar

* Latest travel guidelines for passengers arriving from Punjab, Maharashtra and Kerala

The government of Bihar has made it mandatory for all the passengers entering from Maharashtra, Punjab and Kerala to carry a negative RT-PCR report. Passengers without a COVID negative report will be subjected to a rapid antigen test at the airport.

> For Meghalaya

Entry procedure for travellers to enter Meghalaya has been revised by the Government of the state.

People entering Meghalaya will now have to register themselves prior to their travel at http://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm and also download the Aarogya Setu App and the Behaviour Change Management App of Meghalaya from Google Play Store.

Also, a negative RT-PCR / TruNat / CBNAAT report is mandatory for people entering from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab and Karnataka. RAT negative report will not be valid for persons coming from these 4 states. Travellers should take the COVID-19 test within 72 hours of their arrival at the entry point.

Thermal screening is mandatory for all passengers. All travellers have to undergo mandatory quarantine at home for 7 days and to monitor their health for 14 days.

Symptomatic passengers will be tested on arrival at the airport.

All arriving passengers from Maharashtra to Bhopal Airport must carry a negative RT-PCR test report delivered 72 hours before arrival. Travellers without a test report will undergo an RT-PCR test at the airport.

All air and rail passengers should have the Aarogya Setu app downloaded.


There will be no restrictions on the entry of passengers, returnees or travellers coming to Jammu and Kashmir whether, by road, rail or air. However, all travellers will undergo COVID-19 RT-PCR/Antigen tests on arrival.
