The Indian Railways has issued a fresh update on safety-related maintenance work being undertaken in various railway zones and the trains that will be affected by these changes.
If you are travelling anytime soon, then it is advisable to take note of three major changes in train schedules that will be effective in the coming days:
1. The South Western Railways has partially cancelled five trains due to non-interlocking work at the Nittur railway station in Karnataka. The changes in train schedules will be effective on various dates till the end of January.

> Train no. 02726 Dharwad – KSR Bengaluru Express Special will be partially cancelled between Arsikere – KSR Bengaluru on 24.01.21, 25.01.21, 26.01.21 and 27.01.21 and will therefore be short terminated at Arsikere.
> Train no. 06275 Yesvantpur – Arsikere DEMU Special will be partially cancelled between Tumakuru – Arsikere on 25.01.21, 26.01.21, 27.01.21 and 29.01.21, and will therefore be short terminated at Tumakuru.
> Train no. 06276 Arsikere – Yesvantpur DEMU will be partially cancelled between Arsikere – Tumakuru on 25.01.21, 26.01.21, 27.01.21 and 29.01.21, and will therefore be short originated from Tumakuru.
> Train no. 07340 Vasco Da Gama – Yesvantpur Express Special will be partially cancelled between Arsikere – Yesvantpur on 28.01.21 and will therefore be short terminated at Arsikere.
>Train no. 07339 Yesvantpur – Vasco Da Gama Express Special will be partially cancelled between Yesvantpur – Arsikere on 29.01.21 and will therefore be short originated from Arsikere.
2. The North Eastern Railways has cancelled, short terminated/originated and diverted several trains under its jurisdiction due to doubling patch work being undertaken in the Varanasi division. The affected trains service major routes including Anand Vihar Terminus – Ballia, Chhapra – Varanasi City, Darbhanga – Ahmedabad and Amritsar – Jaynagar amongst several others.

3. The East Coast Railway has also notified about a change in timings for six special trains. The express special trains run between Palasa – Visakhapatnam, Palasa – Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam – Rayagada. The new timetable of the trains has come into effect from January 18. The Railway zone tweeted the new timings of the six trains along with the details of two new pairs of trains:
