Keeping The Festival Safe: Water Ambulances For Kumbh Pilgrims

To keep everyone at the Kumbh Mela 2019 safe and secure, pilgrims have been provided with the facility of water ambulances.

These ambulances are deployed at various strategic locations to enable quick response in any emergency.

Operated by the National Disaster Response Force, these water ambulances are equipped with all emergency medical facilities like an intensive care unit, multi-para monitors, facility for child deliveries and nebulizers.

Apart from this new service, the number of air and car ambulances has also been increased to meet emergencies.

Other important security measures:

1. Intensifying the security, the authorities have deployed over 30,000 policemen who will give round-the-clock security to the pilgrims. This service will continue till the end of the Kumbh Mela 2019.

2. More than 1,100 CCTV cameras have been installed across the Mela grounds along with parliamentary troops and drone vigilance. This will ensure foolproof security to the visitors.

This 55-day long Kumbh Mela will end on March 4. It is the biggest and the largest human congregation in the world and will be attended by 130 million pilgrims.
