The Indian Railways has decided to install the Kavach protection system on its two very important routes. The 3000-kilometres-long rail routes of Delhi–Mumbai and Delhi–Howrah will be secured with this new technology.
What is the ‘Kavach’ protection system?
‘Kavach’, which means ‘armour’, is an anti-train collision system. This will enable trains to stop on their own in case the system notices errors like a train blowing past a red signal or any other malfunction.
