Kaifiyat Express Derails in Uttar Pradesh

Several passengers got injured as the Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Express was derailed near Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh during early morning hours on Wednesday.

The unfortunate incident happened during the wee hours near Auraiya and left many injured. While no death casualty has been reported yet, the process of sending stranded passengers to New Delhi has already started. Some of the senior railway officials from Auraiya, Kannauj and Etawah also rushed to the spot to examine the situation.

The train collided with sand dumper at around 2.50 AM between Pata and Achalda railway stations. An NDRF team has been sent at the accident site to carry out rescue operations and the railways have already provided first aid to the affected passengers.

All passenger trains which were scheduled to run on the Kanpur Tundla route have been cancelled and a number of trains were diverted as a result of the derailment.
