Earlier this month, Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced that tourists will no longer be required to produce the Green Pass or its equivalent certificate to enter the country.

Before this update came into effect, travellers had to present a proof of booster shot administration or that of full vaccination, or a COVID-19 recovery certificate. In absence of these three, one was required to submit a negative test report for COVID-19.

The news is expected to boost summer tourism influx into Italy, similar to the recent guideline updates in other European countries. Despite this relaxation, the rules about usage of masks are still in force, at least until 15th June.
