Who would have even given it a thought that taking vows aboard a luxury train could be a possible thing, too. The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation or IRCTC will now help you take your wedding wows on the go.
Under this service, the IRCTC will provide you with everything it takes to host a grand wedding—from decor and food to 5-star facilities on a semi-luxury or luxury train while the beautiful Indian countryside stands witness to the grand affair.
If you don’t know already, the Indian Railways operates some of the most luxurious trains in the world. These include:
- Palace on Wheels
- The Golden Chariot
- Deccan Odyssey
- Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, and
- Maharajas’ Express
Till now, these luxury trains were a source of entertainment for the tourists, but now these will become an amazing venue for some lavish weddings. And what’s more interesting is the fact that wedding planners themselves will customise wedding packages suiting the couples. However, the cost will vary as per the facilities engaged.
As per a railway official, “It’s similar to offering everything one could expect during a wedding held in a hotel, resort or farmhouse. There will be the best of everything, managed by experts to make it one of the most memorable events for the bride, groom, and their families…. We are finalising the finer details and will launch these packages on demand. We are hoping it’s a huge success,” the official added”.
This initiative will not only attract the couples soon to be sworn into a wedlock, but also the foreigners and NRIs for an amazing Indian wedding experience.
