Amidst the coronavirus pandemic, the Indian Railways has been working on ensuring punctuality of its 230 IRCTC special trains. Recently, four divisions of the Northern Railways including the Delhi division have reported 100 per cent punctuality rate of special trains.
All 88 special train services terminating in the Delhi division ran on time. Besides the Delhi division, the other three railway divisions that reported 100 per cent punctuality rate are Agra division, Jhansi division and Prayagraj division.
Moreover, in a tweet, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal announced that Railways recorded its highest ever punctuality rate, 98 per cent, across its network on June 22:

Interestingly, this punctuality record has been achieved while also ensuring social distancing and undertaking various safety procedures for passengers, including thermal screening.

Earlier this month, Railway Board Chairman V K Yadav had directed all seven Railway Zones to ensure 100 per cent punctuality in the running of 230 special train services.
