Indian Railways has issued a refund policy if a passenger is barred from boarding a train for showing symptoms associated with coronavirus.
A notice issued by railways said, “If during screening, a passenger has very high temperature/symptoms of COVID-19, he shall not be allowed to travel despite having confirmed tickets. In such a case, a full refund shall be provided to the passenger.”
Following are the cases where passengers will get a refund:
* On PNR having a single passenger
* On a party ticket if a passenger is found unfit for travelling. Also, all other passengers on the same PNR do not wish to travel is when a full refund shall be generated
* On a party ticket if a passenger is found unfit for travelling, however, other passengers on the PNR wish to travel, in that case, a full refund shall be generated to passengers who were not allowed to travel.
For all the above 3 cases, TTE certificates as per examination shall be issued to the passenger. Also, an online TDR (ticket deposit receipt) should be filed within 10 days from date of journey.
