Now, the airport has become the first in India to run completely on solar and hydro power. This is a major step towards IGI’s goal of becoming a net zero carbon emission airport by 2030.
Since June 1st, 2022, around 6% of the airport’s electricity requirements have been met from solar power plants, while 94% of the energy has been coming from a hydropower plant.
