The Prime Minister also inaugurated the much-awaited Joka–Taratala stretch of Kolkata Metro’s Purple Line through video conferencing. This 6.5 km stretch has six stations: Joka, Thakurpukur, Sakher Bazar, Behala Chowrasta, Behala Bazar and Taratala.
The inauguration was done virtually as Prime Minister Modi had to rush to Ahmedabad to attend the last rites of his mother, Heeraben Modi, who passed away earlier this morning.
