Indian Railways announced that as many as 700 unreserved Deen Dayalu coaches will be added to trains by year-end. These coaches are dedicated to passengers who mostly travel in general coaches of Indian railways and do not wish to spend much on travel.
Deen Dayalu coaches are initiated for improving the travel experience for such unreserved passengers. First introduced in 2016, these coaches have many modern facilities like bio-toilets, mobile charging points, Aquaguard drinking water, plush seats, etc.

These coaches have cool features like cushioned luggage racks, coat hooks, pleasing interior and exterior colour scheme with anti-graffiti measures, fire extinguishers and water level indicators.
Apart from Deen Dayalu coaches, railways introduced Antyodaya Express- a full train for unreserved passengers in 2017. This train, like Deen Dayalu coaches, comprised of various comfort features for passengers travelling by general class.
