Indian Railways has announced special trains for the upcoming mega festivals of Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath. This move is intended to accommodate the heavy volume of passengers around these festivals.
Eastern Railways will operate eight pairs of special trains weekly between Malda-Haridwar and Malda-Sultanpur. The special trains will benefit passengers travelling between Haridwar-Malda, Gorakhpur-Howrah, and Howrah-Chhapra.

Search TrainsMalda-Haridwar special train and Howrah-Chhapra special train will start from October 7, 2019, while Howrah-Gorakhpur special train will begin from October 4. The Howrah-Gorakhpur special train will operate till October 25, Howrah-Chhapra special train till October 28, and Malda Town-Haridwar special train will operate till November 25.
Bookings for the IRCTC special trains have started from September 16. Passengers can choose between an air-conditioned, sleeper or general second class accommodations. However, there will be no concessional booking for these trains.
