In a bid to make the journey even more comfortable for passengers, Indian Railways has introduced jerk free rides in around 500 premium trains. By March-end, the national transporter is planning to replace couplers on all LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches.
Search TrainsPremium trains including Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express, Duronto Express and some Superfast trains will offer jerk free rides soon.
Rajesh Agrawal, the member of the railway board said, “ The national transporter currently has 12,000 LHB coaches in its fleet. Of these 12,000 LHB coaches, the task of replacing couplers remains for around 800 coaches. Once the work on these is finished, the problem of jerks will be reduced on around 500 trains.”
