The tourism wing of Indian railways is set to launch a 16 day special guided pilgrim train covering prime locations from the Ramayana. Starting from New Delhi’s Safdarjung station, the last leg of the journey will end with a flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka
Starting from 14th November, the 800 seater will cover places including Ayodhya, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Hampi, Rameswaram in India.
A statement released by IRCTC said, “The all inclusive tour package will cover all meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities in dharmashalas, all transfers, sightseeing arrangements and a dedicated tour manager of IRCTC who will be travelling with the tourists during the entire tour.”.
The cost of the full journey is estimated to be around Rs 15,120 per person. Those willing to travel further to Sri Lanka can board a flight from Chennai, which will be charged extra.
