In an ambitious move, Indian Railways has decided to run as many as 150 private trains by 2023-24.
What’s more, the first pilot train will begin operations from October 4, 2019. This will be a Tejas Express, fully operated by IRCTC.

Search TrainsThe privatised Tejas Express will be providing state-of-the-art facilities like Rs. 25 lakh insurance per ticket, home pick-up and delivery of luggage, cab services and wheelchairs.
Additionally, the Indian Railways will be able to run the trains on time and increase their speeds up to 160 kmph with the completion of the eastern and western Dedicated Freight Corridors in 2021. This would allow on-demand trains to be introduced, making waiting lists ancient history.
