Railways is planning to introduce ‘Restaurant on Wheels’ at several railway platforms by transforming old coaches into themed-based restaurants.
If everything goes as planned, you will soon be able to experience train-theme restaurants across the country.
The food menu will consist of South Indian, Chinese and Continental food for passengers. One such restaurant has already been finalised by the railways officials at Prayagraj Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh.
This project will be a great USP for railways in the food category. Bringing old coaches in use will also generate income and provide a livelihood to many people.
These food joints will have two old railway coaches that will provide food for travellers. The walls of the coaches will be renovated to give a glimpse of Indian railways history.
