In the wake of Coronavirus outbreak in India, all railway operations are now suspended until March 31. During this time, all the passenger trains remain non-operational.
Thankfully, Indian Railways passengers will receive a 100% refund if they cancel their tickets.
For the trains getting cancelled, passengers will receive their refund within 7 days credited into the original source of payment.
This step will help avoid overcrowding of trains and encourage social distancing which is necessary amidst the rising cases of Coronavirus.
Indian Railways has confirmed that only good trains will run from March 22 midnight till March 31 midnight.
The free cancellation includes passengers with cancelled trains as well as the ones who want to avoid travelling at the moment.
The across the counter refund can be taken on submission of a ticket up to 45 days from the date of the journey. Passengers also need not come to the station to avail the refund.
