1. A robot named ‘Rakshak’ created by Central Railways to distribute medicines 

Central Railways has created a robot named ‘Rakshak’ to distribute medicines, food as well as check the temperature of the Corona infected patients at Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Byculla, Mumbai.

2. ‘Project Utkrisht’ for enhancing the passenger experience

Northern Railway based Indian Coach Factory (ICF) rakes are being upgraded under ‘Project Utkrisht’ for enhanced passenger experience. One rake of Varanasi-Bareilly Express has been upgraded during the lockdown period despite several constraints.

A total of 11 rakes have been upgraded under this Project over NR.

3.  North Western Railways runs 1st electric train in Rajasthan

In a bid to reduce pollution and opt for an economically efficient method, North Western Railways ran its first electric traction passenger train between Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Ajmer.

4. Post-COVID coaches will be installed in trains passing through Bhopal

In order to prevent the Coronavirus, West Central Railway will install post-COVID coaches in trains passing through Bhopal. These coaches will have copper-coated handles, which will help protect passengers from infection.
