The Indian Railways is observing a cleanliness week as a part of the Independence Day celebrations.
A special cleanliness drive has been launched with a special focus on cleaning the tracks, station offices, waiting rooms, worksites, areas near the railway station premises and more. The drive started on August 10 and will continue until August 16, 2020.

Book TrainsWhile focusing on cleanliness, Railways is prioritising plastic waste collection as a part of this drive.
The national transporter is also using social media to encourage railway passengers to adopt clean practises and help railways in keeping trains and stations spick and span.

As a lesser number of passenger trains are operational right now, Indian Railways has seized this opportunity to focus on improving the health and hygiene of tracks and stations.
