On the occasion of the World Toilet Day, Indian Railways has introduced e-toilets in a coach of the LTT-Coimbatore Express.
Railways has taken this step to maintain hygiene and cleanliness. Until now, these e-toilets were used only in static locations. But for the first time, LTT Depot, Mumbai Division of the Central Railways has installed these in coach (3A) of Train 11013.
e-toilets have several functions and sensors which make flushing easier, and also have additional functions and system integrations.
These are easy to install due to their pre-fabricated steel structure. These toilets are equipped with pressurized flushing to solve the problem of unclean toilets.
This one-of-a-kind initiative is being monitored for now. If successful, these environment-friendly toilets can be installed in other coaches as well.
