On August 18, a total of 98 bio-toilets were installed in trains in one day! So far, IRCTC has successfully installed as many as 2,17,790 bio-toilets in 60,657 number of train coaches.
This will help in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness on railway tracks and will facilitate coaches. It’ll also help track maintenance staff to perform their work more efficiently.
The bio-toilet project of Indian Railways is the indigenous development of technology, a first-of-its step that is being used by any railway network in the world.
