There is some good news for train travellers. For a better passenger experience, Indian Railways has integrated all its helpline numbers into one—139—and named it ‘’Rail Madad”.

Passengers just have to dial 139 from any mobile number, and all their queries about train journeys (and more) will be addressed on the same.

You can enquire about a wide range of topics, like Railway-related questions, general complaints, assistance with security or medical issues, catering complaints and accidents.
The helpline number has an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).

*The call is charged at Rs. 2 per minute.
> For security and medical assistance, passengers can press 1.
> For queries, travellers can press 2.
> For catering complaints, rail passengers can press 3.
> General complaints will be answered on number 4.
> Vigilance-related complaints will be addressed by pressing 5.
> Press 6 for parcel or goods enquiries or complaints.
> Press 7 for assistance related to trains operated by the Indian Railways.
> Press 9 to know the status of your complaint.
> Press * to speak to a Railway representative.
