Indian Railways has managed to successfully complete multiple long-pending maintenance projects during the coronavirus imposed lockdown.
From yard remodelling, doubling and electrification of rail lines to fixing old bridges, the national transporter has utilised the last few months of the lockdown judiciously.
Interestingly, in Delhi alone, the Indian Railways has fixed more than 14 foot over bridges.

These repair projects were pending for years and their repair was critical for passenger safety.
Previously, Indian Railways had confirmed that it completed 200 maintenance projects of critical importance during the COVID-19 lockdown. The completed projects were essential to boost the safety and speed of train operations in key sections of tracks.
