Here’s What October Has For You!

Come October and we have no seats for you!

Shocked? We were too!

Just a week left for the festive season to begin, majority of the trains to Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Howrah, and Vadodara are completely booked with no scope left for even a single vacant seat.

Under such situations, it’s better to take a flight instead, and specially when you can book flights starting from ₹150.

If you don’t believe us, just check the Diwali Countdown Sale.

Only if you have plans to visit your near and dear ones this Diwali, you can consider yourself lucky as you may still find a few berths for yourself, but people looking to travel for Durga Puja and Dussehra will have a tough time.

Introducing special trains and increasing bogies are a few initiatives that the North-Western Railway or NWR has already taken, but these may fall short of meeting demands coming out the festival rush.

It’s quite disappointing to know that many passengers who went to book railway tickets over the weekend returned empty-handed. Sad, we know!

According to a reservation officer at Jaipur Railway Station, “Most of the trains, including Howrah-Jodhpur Ashram Express, Sampark Kranti, Pooja Express and Jaipur-Mumbai, are fully reserved. People are trying their luck by taking waiting list tickets”.

And, that’s not all!

Many passengers who tried to book tickets online nearly two months before had to face major disappointment as several hackers had blocked the website to hoard reserve tickets in bulk.

As per a native of Ahmedabad and Jaipur-based IT professional, Aniket Dave, “I have a ticket for Ahmedabad on October 6 which is 36 on the waiting list. I hope to get it confirmed, otherwise I would have to haggle with the ticket examiner for a seat”. The situation is almost the same for passengers wanting to travel from Maharashtra and West Bengal.

And when you already know that you can book flights starting at as low as ₹150, why postpone your travel plans.

Simply relax, sip your favourite beverage and…

Book Flights At Train Fares

A railways officer added, “Most of the trains to these destinations are booked and are on waiting list or have no room. We are adding some bogies to these trains to meet the rush.”

To combat the serious issue, the Indian Railways recently introduced extra coaches in 20 trains crossing various stations of the state.

Whatever the situation is, stay happy and keep travelling! 🙂
