Book FlightsAs per the 2024 amendments to the Flight and Maritime Connectivity Rules, passengers may use internet services only when electronic devices are allowed, ensuring a seamless and safe online experience while in the air.
The government’s rule requires aircraft to reach at least 3,000 meters before allowing mobile communication services, to avoid interference with ground networks in Indian airspace. However, Wi-Fi internet services can be accessed as soon as electronic devices are allowed to be used onboard.
The clarification ensures that passengers can use Wi-Fi services during flights, but only when electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops, are authorised for use by the crew.
This policy aligns with existing safety protocols that limit device use during key flight phases, such as takeoff and landing.
