Railways is all set to run inter-district special trains in Maharashtra on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the biggest and most sacred festivals celebrated in the state.
The ten-day mega-festival, which will begin on August 22 this year, sees lakhs of people head to the Konkan districts of Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg from Mumbai and its adjoining areas.
Considering the importance of the festival and keeping in mind the current scenario of COVID-19, Ganpati Special Trains will be operated between Mumbai CSMT, Lokmanya Tilak (T), Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi Road, Kudal and all in-between stations from today, August 15.

The special trains operated by Central Railway will be making a total of 162 trips between August 15 and September 5, 2020 in coordination with Konkan Railway.
Western Railway will also operate 5 pairs of Ganpati special trains. Check their complete schedule here and here.
The special trains operated by Western Railway will be making a total of 20 trips between August 17 and August 31, 2020 in coordination with Konkan Railway.

It is to be noted that all of these special trains will run as fully-reserved trains. There will be no unreserved coaches.
