Indian Railways has been working towards providing free Wi-Fi services at railway stations. So far more than 700 railway stations are providing free Wi-Fi to the passengers.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that free Wi-Fi services at stations has been a huge help to the passengers. Hence, more stations should provide it soon. He also added that the Division Railway Managers will be awarded for early Wi-Fi installation.
Note: The plan is to provide free Wi-Fi to 2,000 stations as soon as possible.
This month, Kalka-Shimla section were equipped with free Wi-Fi, along with Dharampur Himachal, Taksal, Kandaghat, Salogra, Knoh, Kathleghat, Gumman, Koti, Kumarhatti Dagshai, Sonwara, Shoghi, Tara Devi, Jutogh and Summerhill.
Now 6 more names have been added to the list and these stations are – Bidar, Khanapur, Kamalnagar, Halbarga, Bhalki, and Kalgupur stations on Secunderabad Division.
