Attention Flyers! Low-cost carrier IndiGo has increased the charges for check-in baggage in excess of 15 kg by one-third or 33%.
Beyond the free 15 kg, passengers pre-booking their baggage will now pay Rs.1,900; Rs.3,800; Rs.5,700 and Rs.11,400 for 5, 10, 15 and 30 kg of baggage respectively on domestic routes.
For those who haven’t pre-booked their baggage will have to pay Rs 400/kg if the weight exceeds the 15-kg mark.
Note: The new charges came into effect from June 22, 2018
IndiGo’s decision to hike charges for excess baggage by 33% will force other carriers to follow the suit.
