First domestic flight from UP’s Kushinagar Airport takes off

Great news for travellers!

The recently inaugurated Kushinagar Airport in Uttar Pradesh has now become functional. The first domestic flight between Kushinagar and New Delhi was operated by SpiceJet, and took off today.

Flights for two more cities are scheduled from the airport – for Kolkata from 17th December and for Mumbai from 18th December.

On December 17, the flight will take off from Kolkata at 1:35 pm and land in Kushinagar at 3:20 pm. It will then depart from Kushinagar at 3:40 pm and land in Kolkata at 5:15 pm.

On December 18, the flight will fly out of the Mumbai Airport at 12:10 pm and land in Kushinagar at 2:25 pm. It will then take off from Kushinagar at 3 pm and land in Mumbai at 5:35 pm.

Kushinagar is an important place for Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world as it is believed that Gautam Buddha attained Nirvana here more than 2,500 years ago.
