Domestic airlines to operate at 80% of pre-COVID capacity; new flights to begin soon!

Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Civil Aviation Minister, informed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation is now allowing domestic carriers to increase their operations from the existing 70 percent to 80 percent of the pre-COVID approved capacity.

A total of 2.52 lakh passengers have used domestic air services since flight operations resumed post the COVID-19 lockdown.

Last month, the Centre had allowed domestic airlines to deploy up to 70 per cent of their flight capacity, up from 60 per cent capacity utilization in the domestic sector that was allowed with effect from September 2.
