Indian Railways has decided to run 7,000 special trains to accommodate two lakh extra passengers daily to clear the festive rush across the country. It is much higher in numbers compared to last year’s 4,429 Diwali Special trains.

A total of 136 extra festival special trains are scheduled each day, with special setups at various stations, like extra waiting areas, more ticket counters, food stalls, drinking water, and better security. For Chhath Puja, 145 additional Chhath Puja Special trains will run on November 2, 3, and 4 to ensure smooth travel during the main festival days from November 5 to 8.
IRCTC Special trains list includes AC specials, trains with a mix of AC, sleeper, and general coaches, and unreserved trains as well.
These are running from various railway zones to destinations across the country, helping passengers plan their trips in advance and celebrate the festivals with loved ones. Some of the major services include New Delhi to Patna trains, Mumbai to Asansol trains, New Delhi to Varanasi trains, etc.
