Attention Delhi Metro travellers! DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) just announced a fare hike across all its routes except the Airport line.

According to the latest report, metro commuters will now have to shell out an extra INR 10 if they are travelling beyond 5 km on the metro routes.
However, DMRC has reduced the fares on smart card and as per the rule, passengers with smart card and those travelling during the off-peak hours will be availing a 20 percent discount. The off-peak hours start between 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM onwards. Almost 70 percent of the commuters are smart card users and the revised fare will be applicable for 5 lines including Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Violet.
The revised fare structure is: up to 2 km — INR 10, 2 to 5 km — INR 20, 5 to 12 km — INR 30, 12 to 21 km — INR 40, 21 to 32 km —INR 50 and for journeys beyond 32 km — INR 60.
The announcement of fare hike came late on Monday night after a meeting of the concerned authorities.
