Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport will soon be getting an air train to ensure smooth passenger movement within all its terminals. Currently, the airport is in its infrastructure expansion phase which is likely to be over by June 2022. The air train is part of the same development plan.

Book FlightsOn completion, the airport will have the handling capacity of 10 crores passengers annually. Thus, building an air train will make the transit effortless for passengers travelling through the Delhi Airport. According to reports, the new air train will be planned between T1 and T3 terminals.
Currently, passengers at the Delhi airport use the shuttle bus service to move from one terminal to another.
However, in the past few years, transit traffic at this airport has increased tremendously. Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) realised, that depending solely on bus services is not enough and there is a need to improve commute within terminals.
