An order issued by the Indian Government confirms that all existing visas granted to foreigners, including OCI cardholders remain suspended until regular international air travel to and from India resumes.
Any foreign national holding an OCI card who intends to travel to India urgently can contact the nearest Indian Embassy.
Additionally, any person holding OCI card who is already in India can stay in the country for any length of time.
Visas under diplomatic, official, UN/International organisations, employment and project categories are exempted from the suspension.
The Union Home Ministry also confirmed that it has extended the visas of foreigners stranded in India due to the lockdown. The extension will be for 30 days beyond the opening of regular travel in the country.
