In order to check the spread of coronavirus in the country, Odisha and Punjab have decided to extend the lockdown.
While Odisha has extended the lockdown till April 30, Punjab has extended the curfew in the state till May 1. Furthermore, Odisha along with the extended lockdown has also shut all educational institutions till June 17.
While the total case count in Odisha is 50, Punjab has seen a total of 151 cases till now. Wearing face masks in public has also been made compulsory in the states.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 7600, with 249 deaths and 774 recoveries being recorded so far. Given the circumstances, there are speculations that the three-week national lockdown may be further extended.
