The deadly coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, has spread to over 25 countries. China has confirmed over 30,000 cases of the virus. And, India has so far reported 3 confirmed cases in Kerala with no reports of any new cases.
However, since the virus has the potential to spread fast, it is necessary to take some precautionary measures. This is especially for train travellers as passengers are in close proximity to one another, and the chances of catching an infection are higher.

Please note these steps are useful as general preventive measures as well.
Avoid unnecessary touching of objects and surfaces in the train. If possible, clean and disinfect your surroundings with sanitizers or disinfectants.
Cover your mouth every time you cough. While sneezing, use a tissue and throw the same in the trash.
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or an alcohol-based sanitizer.
Keep away from sharing food with strangers or other fellow passengers. While eating, use cutlery instead of your hands.
Keep a safe distance from people who are already unwell and have flu-like symptoms.
Wear N95 masks as they have multiple layers of filters that ensure that the air we breathe is 95% dust-free.
Lastly, if you are feeling sick, avoid travelling and visit a doctor immediately.
