Great news for passengers travelling with the national transporter!
The Indian Railways Board has decided to resume serving cooked food in trains, a service that had earlier been discontinued as a safety measure against the coronavirus pandemic.
In a new letter issued by the Board, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been asked to resume the passenger-friendly service.
Trip planning begins here:

As per the Board, the decision to resume normal catering services has also been taken keeping the demands of travellers and the easing of COVID restrictions on eateries and hotels across the country in mind.

The ready to eat meals that the Railways is currently offering to passengers, will also continue to be available, as specified in the letter.
More details and the date from which cooked food services will be back are expected to be shared by the national transporter soon.
The resumption of this service is bound to benefit passengers, especially those travelling long-distance with the Railways!
