The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHRCL) has announced a competition to name India’s first bullet train.
The last date to submit the entries is March 25, 2019. The name of the train will be shortlisted through a nominated committee and the winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 along with a certificate confirming their participation.
The train will run from Mumbai to Ahmedabad by 2022.
A statement by NHRCL said, “The mascot essentially should be a well designed character which will personify the value system of NHSRCL and will also be able to communicate effectively. Naming the bullet train will provide it an identity which will help people to establish a connect with the bullet train,”.
Along with naming the train, there is another competition to design the mascot for the train. The cash prize for the same is Rs. 1,00,000.
