By next year, the Indian government is gearing up to launch the initial series of Vande Bharat sleeper trains on extended routes. This will consist of three variations of the train, namely Vande Metro, Vande Chair Car, and Vande Sleepers.

According to sources, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is currently working on the design for the sleeper version of Vande Bharat trains, with plans to finalize it by the end of December. He further mentioned that the initial batch of these trains is expected to be prepared by March 2024.
There will be three variants of Vande Bharat trains. The Vande Metro format is designed for journeys under 100 kilometers, Vande Chair Car for distances ranging from 100 to 550 kilometers, and Vande Sleepers for trips exceeding 550 kilometers. These three formats are expected to be ready by February-March of the following year.
