All domestic Air India and Alliance Air flights have started operations from Terminal 4, starting November 15, 2023.

The Terminal 4 expansion project is part of a larger plan to overhaul and modernize Chennai Airport, in line with India’s rapidly growing aviation sector. The project also includes the construction of a new runway and taxiway system, along with various other infrastructural upgrades.
