To facilitate the check-in at the Chennai Airport, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is all set to commission In-Line Baggage Screening (ILBS) system.
With this, passengers will no longer have to queue at the X-Ray scanning machines to get their check-in luggage scanned.

Book FlightsThe ILBS scanners have CT X-Ray and CT Scan system, capable of detecting explosives and contraband.
While the first two levels of screening will be automatic, at the third level the machine will direct bags with suspicious articles for manual inspection by security staff.
The facility will be available at the international terminal by the end of the month and at the domestic terminal by December. Once operational, passengers will only need to deposit the luggage at the check-in counters.
