A design by the student of National Institute of Design Ahmedabad has been chosen as the official logo of the Bullet Train project in India. The logo was selected by a three-member committee headed by the famous painter and architect Satish Gujral, a Niti Aayog member and an official from the NHSRCL (National High Speed Rail Corporation). The applications for the logo were accepted between 19th April and 18th May 2017.
The 27-year old student Chakradhar Alla designed a logo that comprises the outline of a Cheetah on an engine representing speed and reliability. Rail officials in their recent interview said that this logo will have a place of pride on all documents concerning the bullet train.
The ambitious bullet train project will cost around INR 1.10 lakh crore. Japan is giving a loan of INR 88,000 crore for the project with a minimal interest rate of 0.1%. Read all about Bullet Train Project here.
