Bharat Gaurav Scheme: IRCTC to Connect India and Nepal By a Tourist Train

Good news for train travellers!

IRCTC became the first Indian agency to connect two countries by a tourist train under the Bharat Gaurav Scheme. The train is scheduled to leave New Delhi today, i.e., 21st June at 5 PM.

Now Pay ZERO Payment Gateway Charges on train bookings via CRED Pay and UPI.

It will depart from Safdarjung Railway Station and travel approximately 8,000 kilometres on the Shri Ramayana Circuit to reach Nepal. The duration of the journey will be 18 days.

The train will run under the “Swadesh Darshan” scheme and will cover prominent places associated with the life of Lord Rama. It will travel through major cities, including Ayodhya, Buxar, Janakpur, Sitamarhi, Kashi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi, Rameshwaram, Kanchipuram and Bhadrachalam. The tour itinerary also includes a visit to the Ram Janki temple located in Nepal.

According to IRCTC, the train has a capacity of 600 passengers and the journey will cost around ₹65,000 per person.

All visitors will be given a safety kit that includes a face mask, hand gloves and hand sanitiser. COVID-19 vaccination is required for all guests over the age of 18.
