In today’s important aviation news, the flight operations at Bagdogra International Airport will reopen on April 26th, 2022 (i.e., tomorrow).
Important: Passengers are advised to check with the respective airlines about the status of their flights.
Why was the airport shut down?
Back in February, Bagdogra Airport officials had announced on Twitter that the airport would remain shut from 11th to 25th April for refurbishing work on the sole runway.

Bagdogra Airport is located near Siliguri, West Bengal. It is the second major airport in West Bengal after Kolkata.

According to news reports, flight operations were halted and 21 flights were cancelled at the airport after the damage was reported on the runway.
