Ayodhya Railway Station is being developed to create the aura of Treta Yug for pilgrims. The building is eco-friendly and can sustain the pressure of a peak rush of nearly 60,000 passengers on festivals.
Spread across 11,000 sqm area, the central dome of the station’s building is inspired from Lord Ram’s ‘mukut’ (crown). The ‘chakra’ behind the ‘mukut’ represents the sun. Further, two ‘shikhars’ on the two-storey building are inspired from the Janaki temple. There are seven ‘mandapas’ between the ‘shikhar’.

The railway station requires minimum electricity, as the design allows abundant natural light. For water efficiency, we have given the provision of rainwater harvesting.
On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the Ayodhya junction and will launch eight trains.
