Archeological Survey of India Declares 138 Indian Monuments as ‘Must-See’

Are you a traveller with a taste for culture? Well, then there’s good news for you! The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has identified 138 monuments in the country as ‘must-see’.

The list features a number of archaeological sites as well as a few UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

It is to be noted that out of the 38 World Heritage Sites in India, 22 cultural sites including monuments and caves are under ASI protection. The sites on the ASI list are spread all over the country, making sure travellers strike some off their bucket list wherever they go.

Some of the names on the list include Tabo Monastery in Himachal Pradesh; Golconda Fort in Andhra Pradesh; Baijnath temple in Uttarakhand; Modhera Sun Temple in Gujarat; Ajanta, Elephanta and Ellora Caves in Maharashtra and Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort, Qutub Minar in Delhi.
