Amarnath Yatra 2019: All You Need To Know

The Amarnath Cave Temple is an annual pilgrimage destination for thousands of devotees who travel barefoot braving extreme weather conditions and rough terrains.

This year’s Amarnath Yatra has officially begun on 1st July, 2019. The 46-day Yatra will accommodate over 3.5 lakh pilgrims.

Dates: The Yatra began on 1st July and will conclude on 15th August.

Route: The journey for Amarnath cave starts from Baltal or Pahalgam. A higher percentage of pilgrims prefer to begin their journey from Srinagar, as it is well-connected to all other parts of the country. 

How to reach Srinagar? 

You can either take a flight to Srinagar or take a train to Jammu and then travel by bus or taxi to reach Srinagar.

Some of the main trains for Amarnath Yatra run from Kanpur Central, Allahabad Jn, and New Delhi. There are 10 weekly trains connecting Kanpur Central to Jammu, 3 weekly trains connecting Allahabad Jn to Jammu, and 4 weekly trains connecting New Delhi to Jammu.
