All about Trains: Five Railway Updates for the Day

Given that the festive season of Dussehra and Diwali is just around the corner, various zones and divisions of Indian Railways have released new information about special trains and coach additions. Scroll down to know more about these announcements.

Update 1: New Trains on Jammu–Barauni Route

The North Eastern Railway has launched a pair of special trains between Jammu Tawi and Barauni. 

Train no. 04646 Jammu Tawi–Barauni Puja Special will run every Thursday from 29th September to 10th November. It will depart from its source at 5:45 AM, and will reach Barauni at 11:45 AM the next day. 

Train no. 04645 Barauni–Jammu Tawi Puja Special will run every Friday from 30th September to 11th November. It will depart from its source at 4 PM, and will reach Jammu Tawi at 8:45 PM the next day. 

Update 2: New Trains on Mumbai–Malda Route

The Eastern Railway shared that it will operate two services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Malda Town. For the complete information, here’s the official tweet: 

Update 3: AC Coach Addition in Six Trains

The North Eastern Railway will also be making some coach-related changes in six services. One of the Second Class (2S) coaches in these trains will be replaced by a 3-Tier AC coach. This will greatly improve the passengers’ experience in the festive season. 

Here are the details of these services: 

  • Train nos. 12559/12560 Banaras–New Delhi–Banaras Shivganga Express, 
  • Train nos. 12581/12582 Banaras–New Delhi–Banaras Superfast Express, 
  • Train nos. 15127/15128 Banaras–New Delhi–Banaras Kashi Vishwanath Express. 

Update 4: New Trains on Okha–Delhi Route

The North Western Railway will be running a pair of services between Okha and Delhi Sarai Rohilla. 

Train no. 09523 Okha–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Superfast Weekly Special will run from 18th October to 29th November. It will depart from Okha at 10 AM every Tuesday, and will reach its destination at 10:10 AM the next day. 

Train no. 09524 Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Okha Superfast Weekly Special will run from 19th October to 30th November. It will depart from Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 1:20 PM every Wednesday, and will reach its destination at 1:50 PM the next day. 

> Update 5: Festive Trains on Multiple Routes

The Divisional Railway Manager of the Lucknow Division notified that six new trains will be run in the months of October and November. 

These services will cover the routes of Chhapra–Delhi, Mumbai–Banaras and Ahmedabad–Patna. For the complete details, here is the official tweet:
